    I own 2 of them. Both with usb intrface (old version used a serial interface). They work great if you use them correctly. If you can invest $12k on a Fluke great for you but small businnes cant affort them or even rent them for $500! The Rwc1000 is not a compliance.certifier... it just "certify" the wire meet the spected speeds and it is correctly terminated... no delays, aceptable skews time, no splits, opens, shorts. Crosstalk test are also performed during the test process. The reports are clear and easy to understand. The user interface is the worst I ever seen LOL!

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable Месяц назад

      We had to chuckle on the interface remark....yes, very basic. One older tech broke the screen.....kept thinking it was a touchscreen. Your comments are on point......we can supply each of our lead techs with these units. $500 for a unit to run reports and have PDF cabling reports.......we can rent or issue the $12000 Fluke for larger jobs or ones that require. We have to be honest....new construction calls for Fluke reports as most just follow template requirements. We send them the RWC.....and 90% of the time it's fine with the GC or IT Directors we work with.

    There's nothing wrong with using bridle clamps in a warehouse/factory setting. We use a smaller bridle that has a small round yellow plastic insert to provide better support.

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable Месяц назад

      Bridle WITH the plastic support is SOOOOOOO much better indeed. In time without the protected ring the weight of many cables might hurt the cabling over time. We have seen it happen in the field and tend to avoid them in our company. Thanks for the comments! Love it!

    In the office with the swinging patch panel. I'm confused on why you didn't bring the cable down through the wall. And straight out to the patch panel. It would look better than exposed cabling coming down d rings. No one wants to see exposed cabling. Other than that. This is a excellent video. So great job guy's

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable 2 месяца назад

      Typically we do not like to put in the wall as down the road more might be added or for troubleshooting you need to re-run a damaged cable. Depends on the site, in NJ we did just run down the wall. Coming down the wall at the end location (MDF/Server) we tend to use a Conduit with bushings, Ladder Tray or D-Rings down the wall.

    Cloud key is not required. These cloud keys models are also no longer supported by ubiquiti. Unifi Access points require a unifi controller. Unifi controller is built into a few unifi devices or a cloud key 2. You can also run the controller from a computer windows, mac, Linux. It's free downloadable software. You're only using basic functions like Wi-Fi you don't even have to have the controller software running all the time.

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable 2 месяца назад

      So good tips and you are correct. Some installs we do they do not even have a computer onsite so a cloud key works for them. With IT services you can "dial in" a better solution but this video just covers the above install. This video isn't wrong....just documents what we needed for this type of install for the cabling techs.

    Yes, don't do diagonal. Did work and got into ceilings that had diagonal webs upon webs. With cabling it's need structure so you can upgrade and bundle it. I like the J hooks. Depending on the facility and business you will see there is lots of things in the ceilings (HVACs electrical, plumbing, pneumatics air hoses, etc). Sometimes it's tight place to wire not a straight shot.

    Hello, Is there an advantage to using keystone patch panels vs your traditional punch down panels?

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable 5 месяцев назад

      The net will go crazy but here is our views. Keystone all day. Why? Speed and form. Very easy to lace into the patch panel and then mark the cables. Take them out and prep, then we use a speed loader keystone jacker. Time is money but perfect punches. This is Paul the owner, I fought for years against the speed loaders or keystone jackers. Now I can take a novice and get them jacking ASAP. Of course a wee bit of training and oversight from a lead tech. Speed my friend....so much better. Okay, time for the people that want to talk about the old trusted way! Let's hear it :)

      It varies but BEST ADVICE. Do your math and make a materials list. Major installs we charge for the boxes of cabling and 10% on the top. Smaller service ticket work by the foot. I won't review our pricing but seen places that charge $2 per RJ-45 head. After a few jobs...you should have a pricing guide of your own. Post it when ready! Thanks for viewing!

    How do you remove a wire if you were to somehow punch the wrong color into the wrong slot?

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable 5 месяцев назад

      Really simple.....maybe....just pull out and go again. However some punches will have little hooks on them to pull just the wrong wire. Mispunches happen, just pull out and re-do. You do not want to punch into the panel too many times....the teeth get loose and down the road cause errors. Once or twice....re-punch....not a big deal (from a 20+ yr tech's experience). I will mention this......some clients want to REUSE a older panel.......Good Lord....just spend the $40-$150 to start fresh. The time for the labor is more. Thanks for the question! Paul

      Yikes.....had some value for us in training techs on Fiber. I think more about doing the test itself than the results. Sorry didn't find value! Paul
